The engine drawn from above mounted transversely, its fan and crank pulley at the right and plugs 1 to 4 running across to the left, above a face-on view of the distributor cap. The cap has its No. 1 tower at the bottom, and the towers are numbered 1, 3, 4 and 2 walking counter-clockwise from it, with the centre tower feeding the ignition coil

How the engine sits in the machine

Assuming you are at the back of the machine looking in the engine bay.
The engine is mounted transversely
The front of the engine faces right
The hydraulic pump is on the left, attached to the rear of the engine
The distributor is clearly visible when the engine compartment door is opened, and is located to the rear of the vehicle
The coil is to the left
No. 1 is the tower facing the rear of the vehicle
The leads walk counterclockwise 1-3-4-2 from there
